How long before "Aussie" Dave Marshall posts about Phil Jaques' hundred made on debut (Ed. it has subsequently been pointed out it's wasn't his debut!) against the Sri Lankan's? I give it a few hours max. It sounds like a good innings but also one that had it's fair share of luck as he was dropped twice - the first time on 60, but a real average of 60 isn't bad.You can read about Jacques' innings at Cricinfo.

ReplyDeleteSorry to letyou down Ed. I did consider posting about Jaques' ton, but to be honest, I didn't see much of it either.
ReplyDeleteAll I will say about this is that Jacques is a quality player and I really hope he does well. At least this ton will give him a somewhat extended run to prove himself.
PS, I hate to correct you Ed but this was not his debut. He filled in a couple of times for Justin Langer when he was injured.....I think one test against South Africa and two against Bangladesh.
