It's the depths of the football season but thanks to England's Ashes win and the fact that the top two sides in the world have been playing in South Africa, cricket - for once - has had decent coverage in the sports sections. Going back a few decades, in the days when professional footballers were less precious, a number of the West Ham first team used to appear in club cricket Sunday oppositions to OMTs at Durrants.
