Dhoni - no brain
Dhoni bats like Flintoff used to, and sometimes still does - with no brain. It is of course great to be entertaining, but there are times when a little common sense wouldn't go amiss.
Good to see Vaughan buying a wicket with Pietersen - once again, club tactics proving perfectly viable at Test level!

Perhaps Vaughan will be telling his bowlers to bowl some club cricket wicket taking deliveries - the long hop and the full toss - always a winner!
A bit harsh on Dhoni, I think. I wouldn't mind a quick 92 from our number 7!
Yes, I agree with Peter. If I was batting without common sense at No 7 and got out in the 90s narrowly failing to clear the rope for the third ball in a row to top score in the innings already worth over 500, I'd be fairly happy with myself. And I certainly wouldn't expect too much chat from the skipper back in the dressing room.
It reminds me of "The Twelfth Man" line where one of the Australian openers gets out, and "Tony Grieg" starts saying "Well, that's a very silly shot to be playing", only to be interrupted by "Bill Lawrie" saying "Well, at none for 200-odd after 20 overs, why shouldn't he have a go!".
hmmm, will have to agree to disagree. If India had lost their next 3 wickets for 2 runs after Dhoni had got out then it would have given England a glimmer of a chance. His role should have been, in my opinion, to bat England out of the match and batting time is just as important as scoring runs. So having hit 2 sixes he could have nudged a single to the deep set field and people would have seen he has brain as well as braun!
If you're looking for a dismissal down to a batsman having no brain, how about Strauss last night? And we know he's not unintelligent, don't we?!
