What's going on with Australia's batting order?

If Michael Clarke is responsible for Australia's Twenty20 batting order then that surely has to be grounds for him to go, far more than his apparent lack of form or ability to score quickly in the format. Why would anyone want to bat Paine and Hopes above the Hussey's and Cameron White as happened yesterday when Australia lost to Pakistan again?
