Vettori

I don't understand why Dan Vettori doesn't bat in the top six. He is clearly a better batsman than the majority of his team mates. He's just scored a brilliant century against India coming in at 6/60. I guess he and the team management are concerned about his workload given that he also carries the bowling attack, but I really think its worth a try. NZ are not strong enough to bat one of their better players at number 8.

I totally agree. I watched quite a bit of the ODIs between Nz and Australia and the guys batting above him were far worse batsmen. Not sure he has a better array of shots than those above, he just has better temperament and shot selection.

Yep, I'm in total agreement too. I'm not sure what stops him wanting to move up he order....maybe it's expectation. But I think he needs to put his team's requirements ahead of his own. And the coach should be giving him virtually no option....
