Double-sided bats?
It appears that Gray-Nicolls are likely to produce the first double-sided bat for some time. That's not something I saw coming, but why not? If it allows more adventurous strokes that excite the crowd (in all forms of the game!), then that can only be good.
But something tells me fellow Burbler Mark Davis won't like this as the bats are designed to aid the batsman - sacrilege!

Actually I'm not worried about reverse sweeps - at my speed (lack of) and level I reckon it's as likely to give me a wicket as cost me too many runs.
Of course it's not a new shot. We used to play a vilage side in the 60s and 70s whose opener was left handed and very slow and, even if we'd wanted to, very difficult to dismiss. He used to play with very low hands in confusing red gloves in front of pads plumb in front and he had two sons - one umpiring at each end.
His only attacking shot was the reverse sweep and the only time I ever remember seeing him out was caught at gully off that shot (perhaps I should have done the easier thing and put him down)
Sounds like a unique cricketer....
If "his only attacking shot was the reverse sweep" then I'd have hated watching him against anything above medium pace!
