Ban for beamers

Mike Atherton wrote in his newspaper column recently that a bowler who bowls a beamer, deliberateley or not should receive an automatic one match ban. I whole-heartedly agree. If such a rule was enforced, it would indeed be interesting to see how many beamers are bowled. At least we could be fairly certain then that any that are bowled were accidental. At the moment, the bowler only has to offer an immediate apology, and the world has little choice but to accept that it was an accident. You can read Atherton's article here.

I also saw this quote from Michael Holding in reference to the Sreesanth beamer: "The problem is when you behave like he behaves, then people will start to ask questions". Quite!

Agree beamers should be penalised with a match ban.
