Aussie selectors

I think they got it wrong leaving out Symonds for the infinitely less talented Watson and MacDonald, but the Aussie selectors certainly can't come in for too much criticism over the last decade or more as Australia have dominated world cricket. Perhaps that's why they don't yet have a full time Chairman of Selectors, but that looks like it will be put right soon according to this Aussie article.

Team selection is certainly one of the most the thankless tasks in cricket. Everyone wants to be critical, and credit is rare. The Aussie selectors have copped alot of criticism over the last 12 months. Some of it has been justified, especially in regards to the treatment of the test spinning slot. They have made a number of very astute choices as well for which they've received no credit. Peter Siddle was plucked from nowhere, leap frogging several in the pecking order and Andrew McDonald was a very brave selection who did a very good job.
