New Cricinfo

That was a shock opening Cricinfo to find it all changed - no problem with that but I really don't want to be patronised by some illiterate nerd telling me not to be afraid of change.
'As Nietzsche said, love is more afraid of change than destruction. But to that, let's add this one from the Buddha: Everything changes; without change, nothing remains' Eh?

I am sure that is something to do with "improving", "stream-lining", or improved web efficiency using some nerd jargon that I never understand.

I find that one of those is usually cited when changes for changes sake take place.

However, I must say that I think it looks rather better than before....Sorry!

The old site was poorly architected so it's not surprising that they had to take a look at it. But of course, regular visitors to the site are now a bit disorientated as they have got used to the old site, for all its pitfalls.

On top of that, the site update was inevitable as soon as ESPN bought Cricinfo. It must have been a mammoth task, balancing user needs with the need for ad revenue so it's interesting to see how they've done. Personally, I'm still exploring and getting used to the site and workload has been such that I've not gone to the site as much as I would have done previously because I feel (lazily) that I don't have time to explore and find what I need. But that time will come and I'll soon be back on there several times a day....
