Ideal time for highlights

It seems that live cricket will remain on Sky so that those without Sky have to rely on highlights. So what's the ideal time for highlights? The ECB have a preferred slot of before 8pm which presumably great for school kids but is useless for anyone who doesn't work 9-5. The BBC seem to want to show highlights very late at night which would be the worst option of all.

For me 8-9pm would be ideal....most kids old enought to take in interest are still up then and those that have been at work are likely to be back by then. 7:15 highlights means that this particular cricket lover hardly sees any cricket except on news bulletins....

You could buy a video or dvd recorder to record the 7.15 highlights, for viewing when you get home!

I could (in theory*) yes, but I'd obviously fast forward through any ads if I don't watch it live so that's not in the interests of the broadcaster! They need to find the time that's best for the majority, or otherwise they may as well screen large audience programmes in the middle of the night and hope people record them.

*It's not worth the grief trying to get use of the TV for 40 minutes or so to watch it, or to sneak off elsewhere to watch it on another TV, if I did record it. The problem remains whether watching on TV or a recording!

I hope for the sake of your peace of mind that you're unable to see today's "highlights"! The level of England's performance was roughly the level of a club 3rd XI on a bad day. If only there was anyone else none of this team should play at the Oval, and there would appear to be a lot wrong with the coaching staff too.

Re-reading my last comment I realise that it is insulting to club 3rd XIs. Apologies!
