No confidence - good idea

So some Middlesex members propose a vote of no confidence in the committee and whilst the meeting to debate it is being arranged the team win 9 Twenty20 games and climb to second in the county championship (2nd division admittedly) and the proposal is dropped. Immediately the team lose by an innings and then by 7 wickets.
I propose a vote of no confidence in the England selectors (or was that part of their plan anyway ?)

I think the England selectors have a lot to answer for, as I said before we lost heavily!

It would be interesting to know what relative weight each selector has - out of Geoff Miller, Peter Moores, Ashley Giles and James Whitaker presumably Geoff Miller has the main role and is accountable? It was pretty clear that Vaughan thought the selection was a joke given some of his comments - he made the good point that it's about being a team and having Pattinson called up without knowing anyone doesn't help.....that's more akin to club cricket where you sometimes introduce yourself to a team mate as you walk on to the pitch.

I still maintain that the team for Headingley should have seen Collingwood retained, Flintoff at 7, Ambrose at 8 and then if Sidebottom wasn't fit they needed to choose between Hoggard (who is only 31!) as a direct replacement, or Broad if they really see him as offering something. Talented though he is, especially with the bat, I think Broad needs to go away and learn how to do more with the ball - his initial stab at Test cricket has flattered his bowling as he was playing against NZ.

It will be interesting to see if the selectors hold their hands up to their error and pick the right team and squad next time. Time will tell. If they carry on not picking Collingwood then I hope they at least bat Broad (if he plays), Flintoff and Amrose in the right order, i.e. the order I've listed their names above.
